This is a West Seattle Roofing project where we removed a layer of composition roofing shingles and one layer of wood cedar shingles. We installed new 1/2 inch CDX plywood over the existing skip sheathing. The owner elected to go with CertainTeed Landmark Algae Resistance composition shingles. Noteworthy was a couple details that are illustrated in the project photos here First, note the  flashing diverters. These are rarely installed by most roofing contractors. This minor detail can cost a homeowner thousands of dollars in siding, stucco or masonry repairs if not installed. Secondly, we show photo of a 4-inch cast iron plumbing vent pipe that inconveniently intersects in the valley area (The result of a previous addition). It takes a skilled roofer to know how to properly roof and flash these types of problematic areas. The photo illustrates true roofing craftsmanship.
