01 Overview

Description:

This is a Des Moines solar project located in Des Moines, WA where we first replaced the roof and installed a new CertainTeed Roofing System using Landmark PRO shingles (Shown in Moire Black). Because of the unique roof configuration, ventilation was an important concern in order to qualify for CertainTeed’s 5 Star extended warranty and Solar Gold Warranty. (Ridge lines would not provide enough Net Free Area for ridge vent to work). To resolve the issue we installed two (2 isolated attic areas) HE15 Powered Attic Fans by Air Vent. Next, we installed a 9.455kW CertainTeed Solstice Solar System using 305 watt 60 cell modules and Enphase Energy IQ6+ micro-inverters. Entire roof and solar system is covered under CertainTeed’s Solar Gold Warranty and will generate approximately 11000 kWh of clean renewable energy its first year. Des Moines Roof + Solar Project

This Des Moines, WA roof and solar project started with a complete roof replacement using CertainTeed Landmark PRO shingles in Moire Black. Pinnacle Roofing Professionals then installed a 9.455kW CertainTeed Solstice solar system with Enphase IQ6+ micro-inverters and AirVent HE15 powered attic fans for proper ventilation. The entire system is covered under CertainTeed’s Solar Gold Warranty and is expected to generate approximately 11,000 kWh of clean energy in its first year.

Roof & Ventilation Challenges

Because of the unique roof configuration, the ridge lines alone could not provide enough Net Free Area for ridge vent ventilation. To meet CertainTeed’s 5-Star extended warranty and Solar Gold Warranty requirements, we installed two HE15 powered attic fans to ventilate two isolated attic areas.
