Metal Roof Project

Everett, WA

01 Overview

Description:

This was a unique Everett metal roof project where we transitioned a standing seam metal roof into a composition roof. The home had an addition that created a 2/12 low-slope roof tying into an 8/12 steep slope. The owners elected to install a metal roof only on the low-slope areas, while the steep-slope section received architectural composition shingles.

Everett Metal + Composition Roof Project

Pinnacle Roofing Professionals completed this Everett, Washington roof project by combining two roofing systems on one home. A home addition created a transition between a 2/12 low-slope roof and an 8/12 steep-slope roof. The owners chose Nu-Ray Series 2000 standing seam metal panels in Bronze for the low-slope area and CertainTeed Landmark PRO shingles in Heatherblend for the steep-slope section.

Why Metal on Low-Slope and Shingles on Steep-Slope?

  • Low-slope performance: Standing seam metal panels are ideal for low-slope areas because they shed water effectively and resist ponding better than standard shingles.
  • Steep-slope aesthetics: Landmark PRO architectural shingles provide dimensional curb appeal and strong weather protection on the steep 8/12 section.
  • Material transition: Proper flashing and trim work at the intersection of metal and shingles is critical to prevent leaks where the two roof types meet.

Products Used

  • Nu-Ray Series 2000 Standing Seam Metal Panels: Bronze-finish metal panels installed on the 2/12 low-slope roof section.
  • CertainTeed Landmark PRO Shingles: Heatherblend architectural shingles installed on the 8/12 steep-slope roof section.
